Blade Maidens: Closed Fist, Open Hand – 12
“Larynn,
Get her under control.
I know Harza has always been one of our most dogged hunters and while that has its uses, this current vendetta she’s pursuing is a problem we can’t afford. The Verdannian Throne may not have closed the bounty, but it has been made profoundly clear that their wayward princess is to be handled gently when captured.
Have you known Harza to do anything gently?
Beyond that, her past few hunts have each had complaints. Extorting for higher pay. Harassing the originators of the contract. She’s even neglected to pay her dues for the last half-year, and managed to scare off all of our attempts to collect.
The Guild exists for two reasons. We provide a useful service for both common man and noble alike. And we don’t ruffle feathers. This is a profession. We have rules. Decorum. And if the nations of Telos begin to think otherwise, then that existence is threatened.
I don’t care to have that come to pass, and I doubt you would either. If we don’t, we can become hunted just as easily as our quarry. We aren’t the only guild in the lands, as you well know. And their knives are far sharper.
Clean up her mess. Handle your wayward hunter, through whatever means you have.
Or else I will find a Seneschal who can.
– Corrin”
A letter from Guild Master Corrin Highbranch to Larynn Fords, Western seneschal of the Bounty Hunter’s Guild.
