Blade Maidens: Shorts – Silver – 2

“Your majesty.

I hope this letter finds you well, although I suspect you will not be pleased to hear it. To allay any hopes: none of our hunters have captured your daughter. Your wayward princess remains as elusive as ever, and her companion is making things even more frustrating. To be frank, I’d be looking to bring them into the Guild under other circumstances.

This brings us back to the reason I’ve sent you this letter. I waited until we had a few accounts, but enough have come in that I feel confident it is the truth. It seems Rowan has brought another wanderer into the fold. I’m waiting on official reports, but from what I can gather she’s just as formidable as either your daughter or her sellsword and has made an already challenging bounty far more difficult. While I’m lacking confirmation, I’ve been told she may be tied to a previously issued bounty, but I don’t wish to frighten you with the details until anything has been confirmed. I’ve also been told the woman’s name is Havensbrook, to give you an idea of the level of rumor and misinformation that spreads with such things. A Havensbrook traveling the roads as a wanted mercenary. Absurd.

Gwyndolin, I’m going to be honest with you. You’ve worked with my Guild in the past, and we have a long history of maintaining respectable, lucrative work in Verdanna. So please don’t take this as an affront…you may want to consider letting this bounty go. Your daughter appears to be in safe hands, as well as rather capable on her own merits, and I have full faith she’ll return to you once whatever spat you are having has run its course. I’ve got two of my own and have gone through similar dances enough times to know the steps.

If you wish to continue with the bounty, the Guild will honor it. However, you’re going to need to raise the fee. Word’s already gotten out about what’s happened to the crews who have pursued the Blade Maidens, and it’s going to take a lot more coin to overcome that.

Yours in service,

Guildmaster Corrin”
