Blade Maidens: My Sister’s Keeper – 3
“Blood loss remains a vitalist’s most dangerous foe, even in these modern times.
Sealing a wound is, of course, a relatively simple matter. Flesh largely wants to be reknit, it is just a matter of encouragement. But if the blood loss is substantial, or worse internal, then it is a far more dangerous matter of spellcraft. An untrained vitalist can easily pour far too much of their own reservoirs of energy into their patient in an attempt to restore the blood supply, leading to loss of consciousness or even–tragically–their own death.
The preferred method, as established by Brother Borm of Verdanna, is to have volunteers to draw energy from to fuel your vitalist castings. Acting as a bridge and focus between the two, a far smaller amount of your own energy is used in the spellcraft and with even a small handful of willing participants you can restore all but the most fatal of wounds with enough time and care.”
